We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Credit Risk Management.

In this role you will:

  • Ensure all Credit Card and Unsecured Lending policies comply with applicable regulations, Group FIM, and regional guidelines.
  • Provide effective and timely support to the Senior Manager in relation to Unsecured Lending reviews, audits, and management forums.
  • Actively review, refine, and implement Credit Card portfolio management strategies, balancing customer experience, market competitiveness, and sustainable profitability.
  • Leverage data, analytics, models, bureau insights, and systems to enable automated, timely actions for Credit Card portfolio risk management. Evaluate and adopt new data sources and third-party tools to enhance decision accuracy and precision.
  • Maintain ongoing oversight of relevant risk models and tools to ensure effective performance and expected outcomes.
  • Provide robust second line oversight of controls for Retail Credit Risk Processing, ensuring appropriate review, challenge, and governance in accordance with the HSBC Risk Management Framework.
  • Collaborate with Product, Underwriting, Collections, Operations, and regional/country stakeholders to deliver risk-reward balanced and sustainable growth strategies.
  • Work with colleagues across the Country IWPB Risk and Compliance team to support delivery of governance and regulatory requirements and to fulfil Quality Assurance responsibilities.

To be successful you will need:

  • Strong banking experience in retail credit risk management with a specific focus on the Credit Card portfolio.
  • Strong understanding of the consumer credit cycle, scorecards and analytics, the local regulatory environment, banking systems, product fundamentals, and profitability drivers
  • Well-developed analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis using statistical and database tools (e.g., SAS, Python, Google BigQuery, Looker).
  • Proven track record of working with stakeholders across diverse geographies and seniority levels.
  • Highly motivated, critical thinker with a self-driven mind-set, able to work independently while collaborating effectively with Customer Groups and external parties (including regulators) to deliver assigned task on time.
