We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a VP, Cross Border Governance and Commercialization.

 

As a Cross Border Enablement & Governance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring HSBC’s cross-border activities are compliant, well-governed, efficiently executed and commercialized. You will drive the implementation of cross-border controls, oversee international onboarding journeys, and provide risk and compliance oversight. This role requires strong stakeholder management, attention to regulatory detail, and a collaborative approach to enable seamless cross-border business operations.  

 

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate and ensure timely completion of all required cross-border reporting and submissions at country and Group levels.
  • Develop proposals and drive cross-border initiatives, socialise them with relevant stakeholders, and manage submissions through appropriate governance forums.
  • Review cross-border materials to ensure adherence to cross-border manuals and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee implementation of cross-border controls within customer journeys, ensuring alignment to the Cross Border FIM.
  • Monitor, track, and report key risk indicators (KRIs) related to cross-border activities.
  • Lead the rollout and implementation of an onboarding journey for offshore markets, ensuring a seamless and compliant customer experience.
  • Support thematic compliance assurance activities for cross-border operations, including audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Ensure timely, coherent responses to audit queries and support closure of management action plans.

 

To be successful you will need:

  • Proven experience in cross-border governance, compliance, and/or risk management within financial services.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and geographies.
  • Strong analytical capability with high attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Effective project management and prioritisation skills, able to deliver across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident in producing clear governance and risk reporting.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint; highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work to tight timelines.
