Role purpose
This role is responsible for ensuring that HSBC Wealth Solutions Technology has a well-defined delivery model and comprehensive plan aligned to the wider Business strategy, to achieve committed VSIP outcomes and deliver strategic programmes such as One Wealth Platform and Singapore Wealth Growth.\
This role supports the overall health of Technology delivery through proactive portfolio management, recovery of at-risk initiatives, as well as overseeing financial discipline and continuous improvement to deliver high-quality outcomes for HSBC’s clients.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Work closely with SVS Leadership to define the Technology delivery model and drive Technology resource mobilization
- Support the planning of Technology budgets to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives/objectives that deliver value to the Business and strategic programmes
- Actively manage all Technology budgetary requirements to support short to long-term Business vision, partnering with the COO Business Management team to manage budgets and forecasts to ensure financial discipline and effective cost management
- Oversee and support portfolio performance reporting to provide transparency, enable risk/issue resolution and informed decision-making to maintain execution excellence
- Maintain a robust risk management framework ensuring timely identification, escalation, and tracking of delivery, operational, and program-level risks
Functional Knowledge
- Extensive experience in Technology financial and portfolio management (e.g. VSIP budgeting, capacity/resource alignment, vendor engagement, cost management, etc)
- Extensive experience in the Wealth domain, Digital transformation and Innovation
- Extensive experience in data analysis and data visualization tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, PowerBI) and Agile collaboration tools (Jira and Confluence)
- Familiarity with implementing and tracking DORA or engineering performance metrics (e.g. deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, ceremonies and models, including Agile delivery metrics
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or IT preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; skilled negotiator and able to influence global teams in a matrixed organization.
