We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Vice President - German Desk for SG and ASEAN.

 

In this role you will: 

  • Contribute directly to targets for growth, sales and service, credit & quality etc by building momentum in the Portfolio. This will be achieved by focusing on (1) Building momentum with Existing Client Portfolio in ASEAN and (2) By onboarding new GERMAN clients in ASEAN subject to the GNB Target market definition
  • Responsible for All GERMAN / SWISS / NORDIC Inbound TOI in the ASEAN region. Especially focused on top 100 names.
  • First point of contact for GERMAN / SWISS / NORDIC Global Relationship Managers to discuss opportunities in-country – Focus on existing + new to bank clients
  • Formulate and execute strategic plan and ROP Target
  • Ensure good implementation of full relationship management strategy on the portfolio of core relationships
  • Identify ways to grow the subisidary relationship
  • Keep abreast of external factors influencing international business e.g. economic, cultural, geographical, procedural and regulatory requirements
  • Actively cross sell a wide variety of commercial banking products and products of other functions within the HSBC Group
  • Drive balanced product revenues across C&L / GM / GLCM / Trade –Enhance Cross Sell Ratio in the portfolio
  • Work with various Business Heads and Country Head(s) of GNB in Identifying potential business opportunities in the existing portfolio as well as identifying new prospects and advise GRM and other stakeholders, i.e. product partners
  • Work with various stakeholders to attract and onboard new Regional HQ (RHQ/RTC) names into Singapore to be banked by HSBC GNB team
  • Generate cross country referrals facilitated via Global Links and local or overseas International Banking Centre (IBC), whichever is appropriate
  • Generate referrals for other Global Businesses, e.g. Private Banking (PB), Global Banking & Markets (GBM), Global Trade & Receivables Finance (GTRF), Global Liquidity and Cash Management (GLCM), Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM), as appropriate
  • Increase HSBC brand recognition and make HSBC the leading foreign bank in ASEAN for GERMAN Clients. The job holder is expected to represent HSBC in GERMANY and the wider business community for CMB
  • Maintain regular contact with the GERMAN Global Relationship Managers (GRM’s) and ensure they are kept updated of activity in ASEAN. Share GERMAN – ASEAN best practices with other GERMAN` Desks and vice versa

 

To be successful you will need: 

  • An established track record in winning new business and growing existing income
  • Strong leadership, sales management and strategic thinking skills along with strong influencing skills.
  • Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact, influence, and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent credit skills are mandatory and good product knowledge is important, with an established track record of executing cross-border deals.
  • Extensive Corporate banking experience with recent exposure in a front line role, including exposure to sales, commercial lending, credit structures, risk assessment and trade finance
  • Strong network and relationship with GERMAN GRM teams & Management with a good understanding of HBEU banking practices and norms.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of communicating with all levels of staff and management in a culturally diverse environment in ASEAN. Fluency in GERMAN and ENGLISH – written as well as spoken is necessary.
