We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Vice President, Business Development 

In this role you will:

  • Grow Issuer Services market share (Loan Agency and Escrow) across the assigned client portfolio, contributing materially to Issuer Services (ISV) Singapore sales targets. 
  • Operate as a core member of the Singapore ISV Sales & Business Development team, reporting to the Head of ISV Singapore, and delivering objectives with minimal guidance through effective stakeholder management. As the role involves an ASEAN coverage, period travels to Vietnam, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur may be required.
  • Originate and secure new mandates by leading client discussions, shaping fit-for-purpose solutions, and partnering closely with Relationship Managers and relevant product stakeholders.
  • Manage a dedicated client portfolio to market Corporate Trust and Loan Agency solutions for capital markets transactions, applying strong capital markets knowledge (even where direct product experience may be limited).
  • Drive proactive business development, including cold calling, target client outreach and deepen client engagement through structured client calling, pitching, presentations, and negotiation, working in close collaboration with Corporate & Institutional  Banking, Global Capital Financing, and other partner teams.
  • Stay close to financial market developments and competitor activity to anticipate client reactions to market events and proactively position appropriate ISV solutions.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of referral sources and partners across external stakeholders (corporates, financial institutions, investment banks, commercial banks, consultants/advisers, law firms) and internal HSBC teams; foster strong relationships without direct RM ownership.
  • Market and execute with strong governance and delivery discipline, ensuring a seamless client experience while adhering to HSBC Global Standards, internal policies and guidelines, business filters, and all Compliance requirements, and contributing to process improvements and team effectiveness.

To be successful you will need:

  • Minimum an Undergraduate Degree or equivalent professional qualification, with minimum of 10 years’ sales and marketing experience in financial and banking sector.
  • Effective marketer with proven revenue track record in sales in banking sector.
  • Prior banking experience in banking sector is a pre-requisite, with added advantage if candidate has prior banking experience in client coverage and relationship management (RM), credit and lending or capital markets/capital financing
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills both written verbal.
  • Strong collaborator and team-player who is able to work effectively under various stakeholders; and able to work collaboratively in a pressurized environment and well organized with an ability to priorities tasks effectively
  • Attention to details with willingness to continuously learn and develop professional skills
