We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Product Owner, Brokerage Platforms and Digital Assets. 

 

In this role you will: 

Product strategy & roadmap (Brokerage + DAC)

  • Define and own the global brokerage strategy for cash equities and the delivery roadmap for Wealth clients. Execute the Brokerage Acceleration strategy and create a distinctive, client-led trading brand proposition.
  • Own and drive the Wealth DAC product roadmap, commercialize the DAC strategy, supporting growth through proposition design, pricing/packaging inputs, distribution readiness, and tracking of commercial outcomes (e.g., adoption, revenue, client penetration).
  • Demonstrated interest in and willingness to embrace AI to improve product discovery, requirements quality, delivery efficiency, controls/monitoring and client experience; familiarity with applying AI-enabled tools in product management is an advantage.
  • Maintain strong awareness of external industry trends, competitor approaches and ecosystem developments; identify innovation and partnerships to differentiate HSBC.

End-to-end delivery & execution

  • Lead end-to-end product delivery from concept → approval → build → launch → post-launch optimisation, including definition of MVPs, phased rollouts and success metrics.

  • Partner with Technology to define product requirements, user journeys, service design, data needs and integration patterns (e.g., platforms, APIs, custody/settlement, client channels).

  • Coordinate delivery across stakeholders to execute rollouts, including readiness across front office, operations, client servicing, onboarding and communications.

  • Investigate platform-related issues and work closely with IT, operations and external vendors to identify root causes and drive tactical fixes and long-term solutions.

 

Stakeholder leadership & market alignment

  • Ensure alignment with regional business priorities, local regulations, and platform capabilities across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Facilitate working groups within regional markets to identify demand and localisation needs for the brokerage/DAC solution.

  • Build effective relationships across Local and Group Marketing, Customer, D&A, Proposition, Strategy, Strategic Partnerships, Technology & Digital, COO/Operations, Group DAC and second line functions.

  • Support senior management updates with clear, concise materials: roadmap, delivery status, risks/issues, decisions required, and outcomes achieved.

Governance, risk & controls

  • Establish and maintain product governance: documentation, approvals, controls, risk acceptance (where applicable), and ongoing oversight of product performance and incidents.

  • Embed a strong risk and control mindset across the product lifecycle, including product approval, conduct considerations, operational resilience, data/privacy, and financial crime risk.

  • Actively manage risk and control environment, ensuring resilience and regulatory compliance; navigate multi-market regulatory regimes (e.g., MAS, FCA, ASIC, SFC, DFSA, SEBI).

  • Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal and Policy teams to support policy evolution and ensure products operate within HSBC’s risk appetite and applicable regulatory requirements.

Commercial performance & KPIs

  • Deliver commercial performance and growth as committed in HSBC financial plans, including revenue growth and cost management.

  • Define and track KPIs such as active traders, order volumes, execution quality, revenue, latency, client satisfaction, plus DAC KPIs (e.g., adoption, operational stability, risk/control indicators).

  • Drive continuous improvement based on performance insights and client feedback.

Third-party / vendor management

  • Manage third-party engagement where required, including partner selection support, due diligence inputs, commercial considerations, and ongoing vendor performance oversight.

 

To be successful you will need: 

  • 10+ years’ experience in a mid-to-senior role at a bank in an investment product development capacity within equities, listed product market infrastructure and/or Digital Assets.
  • Proven experience in product management (or closely related product delivery/strategy role) within financial services, ideally across Wealth, Markets, Brokerage, or digital platforms.
  • Established track record of project and financial delivery within large financial services organisations, including delivery with external partners.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional stakeholders (Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal) in a regulated environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to produce crisp executive updates and influence senior stakeholders.
  • University degree holder; graduate degree is well regarded.


The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting.
