We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Data Migration Manager (2 years contract).

In this role you will:

  • Develop the Data Migration methodology, driving consistency across multiple businesses, coordinate cross businesses, identify and support the management of risk and governance, to ensure data moves securely, accurately, and on time with minimal business disruption.
  • Plan and have oversight for execution of key data migration phases such as identifying the impacted datasets, defining the source-to-target mapping, coordinating data cleansing and defining the reconciliation framework.
  • Lead discovery and design: identify impacted datasets, define source-to-target mappings, coordinate data cleansing, set the reconciliation framework and data controls of migrated data
  • Serve as the primary cross-business point of contact for all data migration-related activities in the programme and the key Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) representative. Clearly and consistently communicate program status, milestones, and risks to senior leadership and executive sponsors.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Project Sirena team to provide feedback from stakeholders, identify data gaps, and ensure the migrated data is ready to meet market needs.
  • Identify and engage CDAO and Group Data Technology (GDT) support for the programme, help to define and align and engage global data execution programme priorities to facilitate the data migration such as data fabric, data controls uplift, System of Records (SOR), etc.
  • Ensure alignment with data linked risk areas (including cybersecurity security, third party, regulatory, resilience) and operating standards whilst maintaining audit-ready documentation and evidence.

To be successful you will need:

  • Strong experiences in delivering large-scale, complex data migrations (multiple domains, high volumes, strict timelines). Demonstrated ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams, complex dependencies, and tight deadlines. PMP or similar certification is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on understanding of data concepts: data architecture, data modelling, data batch/stream patterns, metadata/lineage. Including experience with data quality and reconciliation (DQ rules, profiling, anomaly detection, balancing).
  • Excellent stakeholder management across business, technology, and operations; confident leading workshops and decision forums.
  • Desirable skills: Data migration exposure and experience with MDM/reference data, data governance frameworks, and data catalogues. Banking/financial services domain knowledge (e.g., customer, accounts, payments, risk/finance data). Familiarity with regulatory expectations for data handling and audit evidence in controlled environments.
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. Relevant certifications (optional): PMP/Prince2, Agile/Scrum, data management (e.g., DAMA) preferred.

You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
