We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an SVP, UK Desk Lead – Singapore & ASEAN (United Kingdom Corridor)
In this role you will:
- Lead the UK Desk (ASEAN) team strategy and delivery, translating corridor priorities into an executable plan and measurable outcomes.
- Drive P&L performance for growth, revenue, service, credit quality and portfolio momentum across existing and new-to-bank UK-linked clients in Singapore and ASEAN.
- Serve as the primary in-country contact for UK Global Relationship Managers (GRMs) on opportunities, client activity and issue resolution across Singapore and ASEAN.
- Manage a portfolio as Relationship Manager (as required), owning client plans, coverage, calling activity and senior stakeholder engagement.
- Originate and execute cross-border business (UK → Singapore + ASEAN), including identifying subsidiary/RHQ-type growth opportunities and deepening connectivity.
- Deliver disciplined cross-sell across lending, Global Markets, liquidity/cash management, trade and other relevant HSBC capabilities to improve wallet share and product balance.
- Lead prospecting and onboarding by partnering with Country/Business Heads and product teams; generate and convert referrals via CRM and international banking channels.
- Coach, review and endorse credit submissions (where appropriate), ensuring strong underwriting, risk assessment and consistent credit standards across the team.
To be successful you will need:
- Proven new-business wins and income growth across corporate/commercial banking portfolios.
- Strong leadership and sales management capability, with clear strategic thinking and the ability to influence across matrix stakeholders.
- Strong judgement on credit risk assessment and cross-border deal execution.
- Broad product knowledge across lending, cash/liquidity, trade and markets solutions, with a track record of effective cross-sell.
- Extensive front-line corporate banking experience, including business development, commercial lending, credit structures and trade finance exposure.
- Strong UK corridor network and cultural agility, including effective communication with senior stakeholders in a diverse ASEAN environment as well as with UK Chambers and familiarity with UK banking norms.
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting.
