We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join us as SVP, Institutional Sales to lead the sales effort for our regional Institutional clients which include Banks, Brokers, Insurers, Investors (Asset Managers, Sponsors, Hedge Funds) and Fintech’s.

Global Payments Solutions (GPS) serves HSBC’s global customer base of Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB). GPS fulfills its purpose of supporting clients by providing superior cash management solutions around the world through an international network of offices in over 60 countries and delivering global capabilities with regional and local market insight. 

Institutional Client Group is a strategic segment within CIB and as such brings with it a high level of visibility. Given the global nature of the portfolio, and the bank’s strategic growth ambition in this segment, the role offers excellent exposure across the bank globally.

 

In this role you will:

  • Drive new sales opportunities across the region, working closely with coverage bankers, global sales partners and other stakeholders to develop and execute sub-sector strategies and client plans, generate leads, grow the book and bring in new revenue.
  • Client acquisition and revenue growth by selling innovative GPS solutions regionally
  • Build relationships with Regional/Group Treasurer’s and CFO’s within client organizations, leveraging these to identify client needs and build a strong pipeline of new business opportunities in Singapore and across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Create and lead deal teams to manage complex multi-country cash management transactions
  • Accountable for financial performance of the portfolio with a strong emphasis on cross country/region and product collaboration.
  • Produce high quality pitch material and timely responses to RFIs/RFPs coupled with proactive advisory to secure key mandates
  • Lead industry vertical and be recognized as a GPS specialist with an ability to display competent knowledge of relevant products and services.
  • Develop the bank's presence in the market, leveraging sector expertise to position HSBC as a leader in Institutional cash management. This includes the planning and execution of conferences, industry sector workshops, internal and external client road shows and active participation in industry forums.
  • Consistently role model the Sales Manager competencies; providing guidance and coaching to other sales managers and team members where necessary
  • Ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organization. This will be achieved by consistently displaying the behaviors that form part of the HSBC Values and culture and adhering to HSBC risk policies and procedures, including notification and escalation of any concerns and taking required action in relation to points raised by audit and/or external regulators.

 

To be successful you will need:

  • 8-15 years of frontline experience working in relevant Cash Management/ Transaction Banking/ Coverage roles.
  • Proven experience of business development and strong knowledge of cash management products, regulatory environment and market landscape in Asia.
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills and comfort working at all levels of seniority, both within the HSBC organization and with the senior management of the client.
  • Highly motivated and outcome driven with an ability to articulate sales strategies and manage a high-profile portfolio of key client relationships
  • Hunter mindset to grow the portfolio and visibility for the GPS franchise.
