HSBC Global Investment Research (GIR) is a ‘CIB client servicing and revenue generating’ global business unit, positioned as one of the key business lines of CIB. GIR is an independent research house with a strong focus on Emerging Markets (EMs). We have analysts covering 1,700+ companies, 60+ economies, 45+ sovereigns’ rates and 50+ currencies globally. In addition to partnering with the CIB clients, Global Research also collaborates with the rest of the Group businesses, such as IWPB.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Research Associate, Asia-Pacific Rates Strategy.

 

In this role you will:

  • Work with the APAC macro strategists and collaborate closely with the APAC economics teams to support the production of key research reports, themes and trade ideas for global institutional and corporate clients
  • Generate a consistent message, improve fixed income/rates product offering, help with Institutional and Corporate client opportunity
  • Work closely with Research Marketing, sales, sales trading, trading (market makers), to ensure dissemination of information and coordinated flow of information to clients
  • Proactively contribute to vote collection to get the team and ensure GIR maintains its rankings in external surveys

 

To be successful you will need:

  • In depth understanding of macroeconomics, strategy and cross-asset relationships
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong team working and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience as a fixed-income analyst in the finance industry

 

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
