We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Manager, Actuarial Services (IFRS17).

 

This role support high-quality, timely IFRS 17 production and results analysis, working closely with Finance and other actuarial teams. This is a hands-on “doer” role with accountability for delivery and control. 

 

In this role you will:

  • Produce IFRS 17 monthly and quarterly results, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery
  • Prepare clear explanations and analysis of movements and key drivers in IFRS 17 results for review with Finance and Corporate Actuarial
  • Support analytical review activities, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and commentary for reporting packs
  • Contribute to maintaining a strong reporting control environment, including evidence, documentation, and adherence to required controls
  • Ensure IFRS 17 production activities comply with HSBC’s Risk Management Framework (RMF) and relevant SOX (Section 404) requirements
  • Work with regional office stakeholders, external actuarial consultants, and internal/external auditors and regulators as needed, ensuring adherence to HSBC guidelines in the IFIM and statutory regulations
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Chief Actuary / Corporate Actuarial team on related corporate actuarial topics

To be successful you will need:

  • Qualified Actuary from a recognised actuarial examination body
  • Relevant actuarial experience, with solid exposure to IFRS 17 reporting/production
  • Good understanding of reporting processes and the reporting control environment
  • Experience in the Singapore regulatory regime is an advantage
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain results clearly to non-actuarial stakeholders
