Insurance is about people, and the promises they make. At HSBC Life in Singapore we help deliver on these promises by providing a wide variety of life insurance products and services to our clients throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Our employees enjoy a dynamic and innovative workplace and a world of opportunities to develop their careers in a high-profile growing business segment. We empower our combined team of high-performing individuals to build skills and explore new experiences to realise the full potential of being part of HSBC.
Together we will pursue efficient ways of working. We will harness the latest data and technology solutions to achieve meaningful outcomes for our clients. And the protection we offer will create broad and lasting impact, helping clients to be healthier, more productive and more confident in their futures.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Life Workstream Technology Lead.
In this role you will:
- Develop and continually optimise delivery plans within constraints (approach, milestones, dependencies, scope/requirements, effort/resources, budget and quality) to maximise benefits and minimise risk.
- Manage and control baselined scope, requirements, benefits, schedule and budget in line with Business Transformation/delivery frameworks; identify variance early and drive recovery actions.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Core Life PAS workstream outcomes across the policy lifecycle (servicing, billing/premiums, product configuration, underwriting integrations, claims/benefits, correspondence, regulatory reporting, remediation and platform upgrades).
- Partner with delivery teams on planning, design and estimation, bringing together HSBC engineering and vendor resources.
- Actively manage cross-team and cross-programme dependencies (PAS platform, integrations/APIs, data/MI, environments, testing and release) to protect delivery timelines and quality.
- Own cost planning and tracking, monitoring OpEx/CapEx spend and reporting against financial governance and business case commitments.
- Oversee RAID (risks, issues, dependencies), assessing impact on outcomes, service stability and benefits; remove obstacles and drive mitigations and contingencies.
- Lead stakeholder engagement: influence prioritisation and sequencing, secure sponsor buy-in/sign-offs for plans/changes/deliverables, articulate benefits and co-own benefits tracking, and manage cutover/hypercare to ensure smooth transition and minimal customer impact.
To be successful you will need:
- Degree/postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline such as Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Economics or Finance/Accounting.
- Extensive technology delivery experience (workstream lead/project/programme management) in a regulated environment, with proven regional/local business and IT delivery.
- Strong Agile/DevOps capability and comfort operating in hybrid delivery models; solid programme management standards (governance, planning, RAID, financials, reporting, tooling).
- Life Insurance domain expertise, especially Core Life processes and technology, including PAS and end-to-end policy lifecycle (new business, UW integrations, servicing, billing, claims/benefits, regulatory/statutory reporting).
- Strong vendor/SI and matrix-team management, with excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication across written, verbal and workshop/presentation formats.
- Resilient, analytical and decisive under pressure—able to structure ambiguous problems, make trade-offs explicit and drive decisions; proven people leadership building high-performance teams (PAS remediation/upgrades or major migrations/data migration a plus).
You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
