We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Investigator, Investigative Reporting.
In this role you will:
- Process cases to agreed procedural standards required and within agreed service levels
- Ensure appropriate pro-active use of media and relevant websites to gather intelligence and identify Money Laundering or Terrorist Financing risk associated with relevant investigation subjects
- Produce a high quality case file including a comprehensive narrative and recommendation as to whether or not a Suspicious Activity Report is required
- Deal with enquiries from colleagues from Line of Business in a professional, responsive manner, giving them appropriate guidance, referring to management where necessary
- Deal with external enquiries if required, in a professional manner, providing them with appropriate information, referring to management where necessary
- Assist with compliance to applicable sections (24 & 25) of Group Anti-Money Laundering Policy. Maintain records, update case histories across various banking systems, and liaise with branches/regions regarding the review of customers subject to one or more validated Anomalous Activity Reports
- Work effectively and professionally with colleagues across the organization and in particular peer investigative units i.e. Financial Crime Investigations, Global Intelligence and Investigations Group, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption and other stakeholders: Customer Selection and Exit Management, Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance Operations
- Ensure performance meets the requirements of any relevant service level agreements and at all times, adheres to Group and Regulatory policies and generate ideas to improve team efficiency
To be successful you will need:
- Money Laundering investigations experience, ideally including transaction monitoring
- Experience of identifying activity suggesting Money Laundering or Terrorist Financing risk and writing reports to identify Money Laundering /Terrorist Financing risk and/or Suspicious Activity Report reporting
- Experience in undertaking investigations/analysis into customer activity with the ability to draw inferences from noted behavior, including transactional profile, against expectation established from Customer Due Diligence data
- Both spoken and written communication skills with the ability to document investigative steps and conclusions effectively, in a clear, concise and professional manner
- Consistently achieve objectives set for them and take action to improve their own performance. Strong organizational skills and case management skills.
- Collaborative stakeholder management across cross-border and multi-Line of Business (LoB) teams (regulatory/law enforcement experience, ACAMS/ICA qualifications, and universal banking experience are advantageous)
