We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Director, FX & PM Options Trading.
Role Purpose
Foreign Exchange Options Trader, supporting the market risk management, pricing and business development relating to Foreign Exchange Derivatives Trading activities. The role will be located in Hong Kong, functionally reporting to the Global Head of G10 FXO trading and locally into the Head of EM FXO trading.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Pricing and risk management of the G10, Yen, Commonwealth FX & PM Options business during Asia Timezone
- Drives the development of business initiatives with regard to the development of technical trading tools.
- Generate ideas and solutions to increase revenue generation, market share and hit ratios.
- Provides timely and accurate dealing services for clients in the assigned area of FXO trading expertise.
- Manages the firm’s inventory and trading risk under supervision and as assigned in compliance with all applicable regulation within a given business area and within desk limit structure.
- Deliver fair outcomes for customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
- Provides consistent pricing and market making to sales force and target clients
- Executes firm and customers' trades in accordance with desk Volcker designation and may contribute to the formulation of trading strategies.
- Ensures all trades are booked to front office position keeping system on the day they are executed
- Reconciles daily and/or monthly reports, as assigned.

- Ability to work efficiently with members of the FX team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other stakeholders.
- Increase brand equity & build internal network of contacts
Operational Effectiveness & Control
- Oversee development of monitoring and relevant reconciliation tools to ensure effective controls.
- Help input controls to mitigate operational losses
- Ensure full understanding of products and how to book them
Management of Risk
Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
Observation of Internal Controls
Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
