HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking is a markets-led, financing-focused business that provides investment and financial solutions. Our sector-focused Banking relationship managers provide a single coverage point for multi-national clients. With our global capabilities and footprint, vast expertise, and local knowledge, our Global Network Banking teams connect clients to the products and services that meet their international financial needs.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate, Export Finance - Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB).

In this role you will:

  • Support marketing and business development by preparing pitch books, teasers and RFP responses, and coordinating/attending client meetings.
  • Assist senior team members with go-to-market planning, market scoping and identifying origination opportunities.
  • Coordinate key internal approval and governance processes (e.g., conflicts clearance, business approvals, transaction profitability/returns analysis, capital allocation, credit and environmental clearances), as relevant.
  • Support structuring of ECA-backed financing, including analysis of transaction risk allocation and key commercial terms.
  • Assist with execution of mandated transactions, including review and summarisation of due diligence materials (commercial, environmental, etc.).
  • Provide support on documentation for Export Finance transactions, including understanding and summarising relevant loan facility documentation where required.
  • Support ongoing portfolio administration and preparation of management information (MI) for internal stakeholders.
  • Guide and support Analysts and Graduates and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing (e.g., teach-ins/training) on ECA-backed financing; uphold HSBC’s conduct standards and fair outcomes for customers.

To be successful you will need:

  • Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in banking/corporate finance; exposure to Export Finance/ECA-backed financing is an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of banking and loan/financing products, with strong credit analysis capability, understanding of credit metrics, and cash flow modelling skills.
  • Experience producing client materials such as pitch books and other marketing documentation.
  • Ability to review and summarise key due diligence areas (commercial/environmental) and, where applicable, understand core aspects of loan documentation.
  • Strong organisation and project management skills; able to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively, and communicate complex information clearly.
  • Strong command of English (additional languages are an advantage). Familiarity with internal tools (e.g., CME, ORC, Navigator) is a bonus.

You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
