Job description
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a AVP PRODUCT
In this role you will:
- Lead end-to-end product development and launch of assigned life insurance products (e.g., HNW, legacy, endowment, retirement and index-linked plans)
- Convert customer insights, market trends and distribution feedback into clear, differentiated product propositions and innovative products
- Partner with Actuarial on benefit design and pricing to balance customer value, competitiveness, profitability and risk.
- Manage the full product lifecycle from ideation and approvals through implementation, launch and post-launch review.
- Drive cross-functional delivery with Distribution, Marketing, Operations, Underwriting, Compliance/Legal/Risk and external partners to ensure timely execution and operational readiness.
- Support go-to-market and sales enablement, including product briefs, training input, illustrations and customer/sales collateral review.
- Monitor product performance (sales, profitability, persistency and KPIs) and lead enhancements such as repricing, refreshes and regulatory updates.
- Ensure strong governance and MAS-aligned compliance across product documentation, approvals, controls and audit readiness.
To be successful you will need:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in life insurance product development/management or closely related roles.
- Strong knowledge of traditional savings/retirement products and index-linked savings plans, with awareness of customer needs and market dynamics.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and manage stakeholders across diverse functions
- Strong commercial and analytical skills, including positioning, product benchmarking, experience tracking and improving product performance metrics (e.g. profitability, persistency, sales)
- Strong understanding of end-to-end product development lifecycle (including ideation, governance and regulatory requirements), with a proactive mindset and the skill to improve ways of working – identifying optimization opportunities and leveraging AI-enabled solution where appropriate
- Degree in Business, Actuarial or a related discipline; excellent written and verbal communication and an innovation/problem-solving mindset.
