We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.

 

Business:CTO Platforms

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Lead cloud and infrastructure strategy: target architecture, roadmaps, standards, platform adoption
  • Own reliability and resilience: availability, DR/BCP, capacity planning, performance, SLOs/SLAs
  • Run secure-by-design operations: IAM, network segmentation, encryption, patching, vulnerability remediation
  • Drive infrastructure automation: IaC (e.g., Terraform/CloudFormation), CI/CD, configuration management, self-service tooling
  • Manage hybrid environments: public cloud + on-prem, container platforms, OS/middleware lifecycle, third-party services
  • Govern service operations: incident/problem/change management, runbooks, observability, cost optimisation (FinOps)
  • Lead the team and stakeholders: coaching, delivery planning, vendor management, cross-functional collaboration and risk ownership

 

Requirements

  • Strong public cloud infrastructure setup and operations: AWS (primary); exposure to Azure, GCP, AliCloud.
  • Strong experience leading cloud and infrastructure engineering in enterprise environments (public cloud and hybrid).
  • Hands-on IaC (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD pipeline experience.
  • Proven experience in AI and machine learning, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Experience designing/implementing an AI platform; familiarity with Kong / Higress (or similar gateway/platform tools).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration (technical and non-technical).
  • Problem-solving & commitment, strong ability to develop creative solutions to complex challenges, working effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates an AI-native mindset by applying AI-driven approaches, including coding assistants, to improve productivity, quality, and engineering best practices.
