We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering (RAG Studio Engineering)

Principal responsibilities

• Lead and manage the RAG Studio engineering team, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture that prioritizes quality, innovation, and on-time delivery.
• Define the technical vision, roadmap, and architecture for RAG Studio, aligning with the overall AI Platform strategy and business needs for RAG and knowledge management.
• Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of RAG Studio’s core functionalities, including retrieval systems, knowledge base integration, context engineering, embedding pipelines, and integration with large language models (LLMs).
• Drive technical innovation in RAG technologies, evaluating and adopting cutting-edge techniques (e.g., advanced retrieval strategies, hybrid search, knowledge graph integration), agentic RAG, to improve the performance, accuracy, and efficiency of RAG Studio.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, AI researchers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize features, and ensure RAG Studio meets the needs of internal teams and end-users.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, security, and observability of RAG Studio, implementing best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.
• Lead technical decision-making, resolving complex technical challenges, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and compliance requirements.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in RAG, knowledge management, and AI engineering, incorporating relevant insights into the team’s work and roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (PhD a plus). 
• 6+ years’ software engineering experience, including 2+ years of technical leadership managing teams of 5+ engineers. 
• Deep hands-on experience with RAG (retrieval, embeddings, vector databases, LLM integration), including Graph RAG and agentic RAG patterns. 
• Strong AI/ML engineering skills: proficient in Python/Go; familiarity with knowledge management tech (knowledge graphs, document parsing/text extraction) and integration with RAG; understanding of model training/fine-tuning/deployment is a plus. 
• Strong delivery and collaboration capability: cloud and container platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker/Kubernetes); excellent communication and stakeholder management; AI-native mindset and effective use of coding assistants to improve productivity and quality.
