We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sub Value Stream Technology Lead.
You’ll be accountable end-to-end for delivering a Sub Value Stream’s digital technology roadmap across multiple markets. You’ll set up and run Agile/DevOps delivery at scale (leading c. 100–120 FTE globally), overseeing design through build, test and release, while managing priorities, dependencies, risks/issues, governance and controls. You’ll also own delivery metrics and dashboards, influence senior stakeholders on scope/resources/budget, and manage “Change the Bank” and “Run the Bank” investment to deliver high-impact customer outcomes safely, at pace and within HSBC guidelines.

In this role you’ll:
- Own end-to-end Sub Value Stream (SVS) technology delivery across multiple markets in a high-growth digital environment
- Set up and run Agile delivery across Technology, covering design, requirements, build and testing for digital products and features
- Lead and develop global delivery teams (c. 100–120 FTE) using Agile and DevOps with CI/CD practices
- Plan and execute market deployments, tailoring delivery plans and packaging products/features to meet local market needs
- Own and maintain the Technology Delivery roadmap, managing priorities, change, dependencies, risks/issues and benefit realisation
- Define delivery metrics and build dashboards to track planned vs actual delivery and productivity vs quality
- Ensure strong governance and controls, adhering to HSBC guidelines and prioritising the highest-impact change for customers and the bank
- Manage costs and investment across “Change the Bank” and “Run the Bank”, including budget variations linked to delivery risks/issues
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Ability to build and implement strategies to solve ambiguous, customer-focused problems in a digital delivery environment
- Proven experience translating customer needs into delivery plans, priorities and execution
- Demonstrated leadership of large global technical teams
- Proven background in large scale GCP data architecture delivery within an enterprise level organisation
- Strong knowledge of Agile delivery and DevOps practices, including CI/CD frameworks and toolsets
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing senior leaders on plans, commitments, scope, resources and quality assurance
- Budget and commercial acumen: managing costs/investment against budget while balancing time to market and robustness
- Strong governance and control mindset, identifying risks/issues/interdependencies and implementing effective mitigations
