We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Strategic Sourcing Manager.
At HSBC, our Procurement team is central to unlocking value for the business, driving competitive advantage through smarter sourcing, innovation, and effective supplier partnerships. We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager who can deliver impactful sourcing projects, balancing cost savings with lifecycle value, innovation, and risk management.
This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple categories, engage with senior stakeholders, and shape commercial outcomes that directly benefit the bank and its customers.

In this role, you will:
- Deliver Strategic Sourcing Projects: Lead sourcing initiatives across a range of categories, ensuring competitive outcomes, lifecycle value, and alignment with category strategies.
- Negotiate & Secure Value: Drive cost savings and commercial protection through effective negotiation, contract structuring, and supplier engagement.
- Partner with Stakeholders: Build strong relationships with business partners, translating needs into sourcing solutions and ensuring outputs are embedded into operations.
- Manage Risk & Compliance: Apply sourcing best practices to mitigate commercial, contractual, and operational risks while maintaining policy compliance.
- Enable Continuous Value: Identify post-contract opportunities with supplier managers to unlock additional savings, innovation, and service improvements.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Procurement Experience: A strong background in procurement, ideally with hands-on experience of running sourcing projects across multiple categories.
- Negotiation & Commercial Skills: A proven ability to negotiate contracts and secure commercial outcomes that balance cost, risk, and business value.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage business partners, challenge requirements, and deliver win–win outcomes.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of applying advanced market insight and analytical thinking to shape sourcing strategies and resolve complex challenges.
- Flexibility & Delivery Focus: Able to manage multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities, and consistently deliver on savings and service commitments.
This role can be based in Sheffield or Birmingham
