Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion, we are currently seeking software engineer with IBM i RPG experience to join our HSBC Technology TREATS team here in Sheffield.
TREATS (Treasury Trading System) is an integrated front / back-office system providing risk management, management information, Dealer support facilities and full operational capabilities including trade confirmation, settlement, and accounting. It covers a wide range of products including foreign exchange, money market (call accounts, term / multi-coupon loans and deposits), debt securities (buy/sell/repo), derivatives (Forward Rate agreement, interest rate and currency swaps), and exchange traded futures / options on futures.
As a TREATS RPG developer, you will participate in the full software development lifecycle such as design, solution coding, testing automation, release, and support. You will also have opportunity to create solutions (technical and business) in other languages such as Java, as we do have supporting tech stack linked with TREATS.
Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Analyse requests received and recommend IT solutions to meet the requirements.
- Be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions according to established standards and best practices.
- Produce system solution documentation to achieve a successful implementation enabling future maintenance and production support across local and regional sites.
- Work with SME’s to successfully deliver projects through participation from requirements gathering through to production rollout and support.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external risk and regulatory requirements.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Solid development experience in IBM i (a.k.a. iSeries/AS400).
- Experience with tools used for Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI / CD) such as Jenkins, Ansible.
- Experience of leveraging source control management systems such as RTC, GitHub.
- Proven experience of IT experience in a software development environment preferably working on large scale and complex global projects in an Agile environment.
- Strong communication skills – experience of interfacing with Product Owner, IT leads, Architect, and IT Offshore teams.
This role is based in Sheffield and offers hybrid working.
