Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Configuration Management to support the Redhat Product Management team lead automation initiatives, support enterprise-scale Linux environments, and provide cybersecurity consultancy. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux administration, with a strong focus on vulnerability management, innovation, mentoring, and collaboration.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform, with a focus on tooling deployment and orchestration.
  • Manage and enforce configuration management across large, complex Linux estates.
  • Develop and support CI/CD pipelines, including code promotions, reviews, and Jenkins pipeline management and provide Level 3 (L3) support, troubleshooting and resolving incidents in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Collaborate with customers on code development and provide consultation on best practices, along with supporting the development, deployment, and configuration of new OS versions and upgrades to estate management tools.
  • Work with Cybersecurity to assess and support the resolution of CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) fixes, ensuring systems are secure and compliant with organizational policies.
  • Provide Cybersecurity consultancy, advising on best practices for securing Linux environments and mitigating risks and engage with the RedHat vendors to escalate product issues and enhancements

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • Expertise in RHEL Administration: Proven experience managing large, complex Linux estates, including vulnerability remediation, CVE resolution, and service management.
  • Automation Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform, including code development, testing frameworks (e.g., Molecule), and orchestration, environments along with Agile Practices: Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • CI/CD and Code Management: Strong experience with Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least two programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, Java, C++).
  • Configuration and Package Management: Experience with RPM creation and managing configuration at scale.
  • Cybersecurity Expertise: Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, CVE remediation, and vulnerability management in Linux environments

 

Desirable Skills: 

Knowledge of cloud technologies, REST APIs, and tools like Splunk along with Agile Practices: Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
