Role purpose
Reporting to a Sustainability Practice Lead, the role will drive adoption of sustainability as a topic and product within Technology.
Your purpose is to entrench a culture of sustainability into Chief Technical Ofice to scale the understanding and ability of CTO organization to incorporate sustainability into decision making and thereby helping CTO support HSBC’s goal to be net zero in its operations by 2050. The scope stretches across Technology embedding new ways of working from how colleagues choose or use their end user devices to influencing architecture and hosting decisions. The role requires someone to look for opportunities to build sustainability into decision making and operations.
The role will be responsible for the design, implementation and reporting of customer success / adoption and change initiatives that support the CTO Sustainability strategy and priorities. You will work closely with all technology specialists, and tech communications and engagement specialists
A key part of the role will be managing the internal Tech Net Zero Community – a voluntary group of colleagues who champion sustainability - connecting with that group; retaining and driving up membership; ensuring engagement from members and keeping them up to date with the latest changes or innovations internally or externally. It will also be important to ensure the community feels empowered to innovate and drive change.
Responsibilities:
- Drive sustainability adoption: Lead the integration of sustainability as a topic and product within Technology, supporting HSBC’s goal to be net zero by 2050.
- Manage the Tech Net Zero Community: Connect with the community, drive membership, ensure engagement, and empower members to innovate and drive change.
- Design and implement initiatives: Develop and execute customer success/adoption and change initiatives that align with the CTO Sustainability strategy.
- Collaborate across departments: Work with various departments to ensure alignment with HSBC's overall sustainability strategy and conduct assessments to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop metrics and KPIs: Establish metrics to track and measure the success of sustainability objectives and initiatives.
- Enhance customer engagement: Innovate to transform and continuously improve customer engagement effectiveness, leveraging technology to improve access to insights.
- Stay informed on trends: Stay up to date with sustainability trends, best practices, and regulations to ensure alignment with the latest developments.
Key Skills:
- Product experience: Experience in product awareness/adoption, engagement, change management, and customer success manager roles.
- Sustainability knowledge: Understanding of digital sustainability or sustainability topics at both strategic and operational levels.
- Interpersonal and communication skills: Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking: Excellent abilities in problem-solving and critical thinking with a customer-focused mindset and proactive approach.
- Organizational skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with proficiency in producing professional content using tools like PowerPoint.
- Engagement tools proficiency: Advanced functionality with engagement tools such as Zoom, Teams, and Slido.
- Adaptability and business / commercial acumen: Ability to work in an unstructured and changing environment with good business sense and commercial acumen.
