We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Platform Domain Lead.

 

You’ll own the strategy, delivery, and governance of the enterprise data platform on Google Cloud. You’ll lead adoption and industrialisation of Tier1 data capabilities, including data entitlement & privacy, catalog, lineage, quality, controls and integrity, observability, modelling, factory automation, selfservice, trusted source, multitenant usage monitoring, federated governance, embedded AI, separability, and integration across the Control Plane, portal, and key enterprise platforms.

In this role you’ll:

  • Own the strategy, delivery, and governance of the enterprise data platform on Google Cloud
  • Define the platform vision, roadmap, and standards for Tier1 data services
  • Architect a scalable, secure, costoptimised Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data platform (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, GKE, Cloud Storage)
  • Establish and enforce data governance (entitlement, privacy, retention, lineage, catalog, quality, integrity, usage monitoring, federated policies)
  • Lead build-out of the Control Plane and unified portal, including automation, selfservice consumption, multitenant patterns, and separability
  • Oversee data modelling and trusted source curation, including reference/master data strategy
  • Drive observability across the platform (metrics, tracing, anomaly detection, AIassisted data repair)
  • Lead CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code, security and compliance (Terraform, IAM/KMS/VPC SC, GDPR/regional banking), plus performance and cost optimisation

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Extensive experience of data platform engineering and leading cloud data programs
  • Roadmap ownership, stakeholder alignment, budgeting & cost optimisation
  • Proven background in large scale GCP data architecture delivery within an enterprise level organisation
  • Strong SQL, Python, Terraform, streaming, governance implementation
  • Track record in building self-service and multi-tenant data platforms
  • Proven technical experience in GCP: including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, GKE, Cloud Storage, Bigtable, Composer/Airflow, Cloud Logging/Monitoring, IAM, Artifact Registry.
  • Strong Data engineering experience using: ETL/ELT, streaming (Kafka/Pub/Sub), schema evolution, CDC.
  • Knowledge of Tooling: Terraform, Python, Java, dbt/Prophecy, Jenkins/GitLab CI, Docker/Kubernetes
