The Azure Security Operations lead will work within the Azure & Power Cloud Services team, leading a Security Operations team that are responsible for making sure all aspects of the platform are secure, and all operational risks are managed. Reporting to the global Head of Azure & Power Platform and engaging with Microsoft, Chief Controls Office, Cyber Security teams, ITSR, Azure Engineering, Azure Operational team and customers to ensure that we are providing a platform that is secure-by-design and compliant with HSBC mandatory policies and security standards.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Leading a team of SecOps engineers and close working alignment with SRE and wider DevOps engineers
  • Ensure that Azure foundation platform conforms to HSBC Cyber Security standards and adheres to the bank’s controls and compliance regulatory requirements
  • Incorporate Security standards and best practice into Azure Cloud Services functional patterns and accountable for Azure foundation platform conformity to HSBC Operational Risk standards
  • Support the Cloud Controls Office and Internal audit functions with requests for information and Service Delivery Manager to implement a 24 x 7 follow the sun support model
  • Accountable for ensuring that robust SIEM (logging) and Monitoring processes are in place, manage and maintain platform risk and issue register with remediation plans along with all customer facing Security information and knowledge bases
  • Gather requirements and provide continuous feedback loops between Cyber security, Controls office and the wider Azure Cloud Services team

 

 

Essential Skills

  • Proficient experience of working in a cloud security/architecture team in an enterprise level organisation and awareness of data security and regulatory requirements within enterprise level organisation
  • Strong experience working with Controls, Regulatory and IT Audit functions and demonstrable Risk Management knowledge
  • Good leadership skills - Works collaboratively in an Agile environment with Senior Stakeholders to deliver the service levels required and an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
  • Operational effectiveness - delivers solutions that align to approved design patterns and security, risk and regulatory standards

 

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of ITIL framework
  • Industry recognised Azure cloud certifications e.g. Azure Security, Security certification (CISSP, CEH, CISM)
  • Technical knowledge (Cloud Service Providers, IAM, OS, CI/CD and automation tooling)
  • Technical knowledge and breadth of Azure technology services (Identity, Networking, Compute, Storage, Web, Mobile, Containers, Databases, Analytics, AI & Machine learning)
