The GDM eTrading Linux DevOps Engineer, is responsible designing, configuring, delivering and consulting on Linux environments and related services using DevOps tooling and methods.
The role holder is expected to operate within and foster a learning culture, ensuring personal, and the team's, technical Linux DevOps expertise remains current with the latest industry developments.
In this role you will:
- Linux Systems Administrator for a DevOps infrastructure delivery role; configuring, delivering and supporting Linux environments and services
- Work as a full stack engineer across GDM Fixed Income eTrading specializing in Linux/Unix
- Responsible for innovation in infrastructure and implementation of new technologies and the on-going support of hardware and software solutions across both live and non-live Linux environments
- Deliver and provide technical support for Linux and related DevOps technologies while conforming to high quality standards and best practices
- Advise on Infrastructure design, development, and best practice
- Develop tooling to automate Infrastructure as a Code. Building automation capabilities to support the execution of operational activities for Linux environments
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Proficiency in Linux server admin skills (i.e. RHEL/SuSE/Ubuntu).
- Demonstrable experience of Linux administration and architecture.
- Proven Experience of development programming experience in Python, Java/JavaScript or similar
- Orchestration and configuration management of resources using Ansible / Chef / Puppet / Terraform or similar
- Implementing and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) solutions such as Git, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus
- Knowledge of network infrastructure (Cisco, TCP/UDP, LAN/WAN, GSS, F5, VIPs, NAT, Firewalls)
This role is based in Sheffield and offers hybrid working.
