Outcomes are measured through stronger customer engagement, faster delivery cadence, increased reuse, improved resilience, reduced duplication and clearer business value from digital investment.
What you'll be doing
- Set the technology strategy, architecture and delivery approach for HSBC UK digital channels across HSBC, first direct and M&S
- Partner with UK business, product, journey, design and technology teams to move from transactional servicing to engagement-led customer journeys
- Own the UK digital future-state architecture including stack simplification, platform convergence and principles for controlled brand differentiation
- Steer a single view of digital delivery priorities so investment aligns to measurable customer outcomes, speed to market and resilience
- Embed AI-powered digital experiences including conversational and agentic capabilities with safe governance across journeys
- Establish UK-owned or aligned delivery pods, persistent journey backlogs and agile practices to improve delivery pace and accountability
- Create the technical conditions for better digital basics including lower customer effort, improved self-service and fewer avoidable calls or drop-outs
- Ensure solutions are secure, resilient, accessible, inclusive and compliant for customers, colleagues and regulators
What we're looking for
- Bring deep expertise in digital banking technology including mobile and web architecture, app frameworks, API strategy, authentication and identity
- Demonstrate experience defining and delivering future-state digital architecture across multi-brand or multi-channel environments
- Show substantial experience shaping scaled engineering teams including hiring and improving mobile build pipelines and architectures
- Apply strong understanding of mobile-first customer experience including human-centred design, UX research and design systems
- Evidence experience with digital operating models including product-aligned teams, persistent delivery pods and backlog prioritisation
- Demonstrate knowledge of AI-enabled digital experiences including conversational AI, agentic journeys and safe integration with core banking services
- Connect digital delivery to measurable outcomes including engagement, onboarding friction, self-service, uptime, cycle time and deployment frequency
- Apply strong understanding of resilience, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance and control requirements in digital banking
