The Group AI Management and Strategy (AIMS) team drives Group-wide strategic programs to accelerate the responsible and scalable adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across HSBC. This includes common platforms and capabilities, AI lifecycle tooling, and enabling technologies to ensure effective governance and delivery of AI solutions globally.
We are now seeking an Engineering Lead – Emerging Technology to lead the development and integration of HSBC’s Group AI Use Case Inventory and Lifecycle Management tool. This role will play a critical part in shaping the Group’s approach to AI workflow automation, platform integration, and solution implementation, enabling consistent and responsible AI delivery across HSBC.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Engineering Lead – Emerging Technology.
In this role, you will:
- Lead Solution Design: Own the end-to-end technical design and implementation of AI lifecycle and workflow tooling, translating strategy into working software solutions.
- Build Scalable Systems: Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure systems that support governance, visibility, and control across AI use cases.
- Drive Integration: Oversee platform integration across internal systems, ensuring compatibility and performance while enabling seamless end-user experiences.
- Guide Technical Teams: Lead and support a team of developers, engineers, and technical analysts to deliver against roadmap objectives.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Product, Risk, Technology, and Business teams to ensure the tooling meets strategic, operational, and regulatory needs.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Proven Solution Delivery: Hands-on experience designing and implementing workflow or lifecycle management systems within complex or regulated environments.
- System Integration Knowledge: Strong understanding of how to connect and align enterprise platforms, including APIs, data models, and system interfaces.
- Platform Familiarity: Exposure to tooling such as ServiceNow or other enterprise workflow and service management platforms.
- Strategic Execution: Ability to translate conceptual frameworks and product vision into technical delivery plans and working tools.
- Collaborative Delivery Mindset: A practical, delivery-oriented approach with excellent stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences.
