The successful candidate will be part of a globally diverse monitoring tooling team that provides support around the clock to a large internal customer base.   The candidate will be required to bolster the support duties for the monitoring tools currently provided, namely AppDynamics, Splunk and Datadog.


Our Splunk environments are managed within both on-prem and AWS environments.  As such, the successful candidate should be familiar within an AWS console, have demonstrable experience supporting such an environment and ideally terraform experience for deploying and managing such an environment in an automated manner.
Within all of our tools there is a requirement for the candidate to support the full system engineering life-cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, documentation, implementation following defined best practices and operational workflows for both on-premise and AWS infrastructure.


The candidate will be required to interact with end users to gather requirements to on-board new data sources and applications into all relevant monitoring tools, analysing the application & configuration data for anomalies / trends, building dashboards and general support enquiries. The candidate should be familiar within a Linux environment as well as editing and maintaining configuration files associated to the supporting tooling.

In this role you will:

• Design and implement Monitoring Solutions. Develop and implement end to end monitoring and observably solutions across our AWS infrastructure, applications and CI/CD pipelines.
• Architect, configure and maintain our Splunk environment, including data ingestion, index management, search optimisation and the creation of complex dashboards and reports.
• Leverage monitoring services to gather and analyse metrics, logs and events.
• Interact with end users to gather requirements to on-board new data sources and applications into all relevant monitoring tools, analysing the application & configuration data for anomalies trends, building dashboards and general support enquiries.
• Create and maintain clear and informative dashboards in Splunk and potentially other tools to provide real-time visibility into the system health and performance

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• Dedicated experience in a monitoring focused role within DevOps or similar environments
• Hands on experience with AWS monitoring services
• Extensive and deep expertise with Splunk, including advanced search techniques.
• Strong scripting skills - Splunk, Python, Bash
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast paced environment.
