We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.
You’ll join HSBC’s WPB Channels UK Self Service team, helping shape and run the engineering that underpins our Self Service Device estate across the UK. Working closely with the Global Head of SSD Engineering, UK and global SSD software development colleagues, and our cyber security partners, you’ll bring hands-on engineering expertise to deliver secure, reliable and scalable solutions. You’ll evaluate new technologies, run proof-of-concepts, troubleshoot OS and product issues, and ensure solutions meet HSBC security standards before being introduced into the bank’s environment.

In this role you will:
- Support the operating systems, build images and infrastructure software on the UK self-service device and express bank tablet estate
- Provide consultancy support on self-service device software development projects
- Develop solution to automate and simplify self-service device operations
- assist third party field engineers and self-service device helpdesk with deployment/business as usual issues
- Own the patching and software upgrade process for self-service devices
- Assist with audit discussions related to self-service device infrastructure stack and help remediate any findings arising from the audit
- Assist with hardware evergreening initiatives
- Active contribution to global self-service device engineering initiatives and if possible, lead few of them for the group
- Active contribution to windows protection tool sets
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive understanding of End Computing security and networking with experience in Win10/Win11
- Good understanding of Active Directory / GPO and SCCM/MECM infrastructure knowledge
- Ability to write Bash/VB/Powershell/Python Scripts
- Knowledge of ITIL/DevOps/Agile concepts and strong troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of Confluence/JIRA
- Ability to gather client requirements and work on projects independently
