The Head of Control Operations is responsible for the ownership of controls across CTOi, leading transformation on these Controls with a focus on taking a proactive, data based approach to controls management.
What you're going to do:
The person in this role will be commercially astute, an excellent communicator and able to partner strongly with executive level business stakeholders (Group Managing Directors and their teams). The person in this role will serve as the Control Operations delegate for CTOi, representing the CTOi at all Risk and Control forums including the Technology RCMM, chaired by the GCIO. They will work with business leaders to define technology strategies, create new solutions and drive a culture of continuous improvement. They will also be partnering with other GCIO and IT counterparts, at various executive levels of the organisation including in-country leadership (CEO, COO, CIO).
Job Requirements:
- Develop and maintain the bank's technology risk and control framework, ensuring that it aligns with the bank's overall risk management strategy, regulatory requirements and qualities inherent in the business strategy.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to technology risk and control, such as disaster recovery plans, incident response plans, and risk and security awareness training.
- Proactively Identify and assess technology risks across the bank's technology operations, including information security, infrastructure, applications, and vendor management.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls to manage technology risks effectively, in partnership with technology teams and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the bank's technology risk and control framework, including the identification and resolution of control deficiencies and gaps.
- Work closely with other risk management functions, such as operational risk, compliance, and internal audit, to ensure that technology risks are identified, assessed, and managed in an integrated and coordinated manner.
- Stay up-to-date with technology risk and control trends, best practices, and regulations to ensure that the bank's risk management practices are aligned with the latest developments.
- Manage budgets and resources related to technology risk and control initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure that the bank's technology risk and control solutions are best-in-class.
Qualification and Skills:
- Expertise in Strategy, Business Planning, Governance and Stakeholder Management
- Knowledge of technology and technology trends, and the ability to provide technology consultancy to senior business heads
- Experience in planning and managing significant expenditure in a complex organization
- Ability to work across cultures and all locations in a complex, matrix organization
- Strong knowledge of information security, infrastructure, applications, and vendor management risks and controls.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve their goals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex technical and business problems and develop effective solutions.
- Demonstrable success in understanding and delivering towards customer needs in large, global, complex organizations.
- Ability to influence teams to think "outside" the box and look at solutions / approaches outside traditional comfort zones.
- Strong external vendor management skills.
- Good business sense and commercial acumen.
- Strong ability to balance risks vs rewards and maximizing the cost effectiveness and profitability for the business.
