Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into an integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
In this role, you will:
The role holder is responsible for
1. supporting Head of Case Prevention and Fraud Management to build up the HBCN Case Prevention framework for HBCN headquarter and for all HBCN branches.
2. supporting Head of Case Prevention and Fraud Management to monitor the ever-changing regulatory requirements on Case Prevention, establish and fine tune the HBCN Case Prevention working contents in a timely manner.
3. supporting Head of Case Prevention and Fraud Management to coordinate HBCN Case Prevention related work.
4. supporting to design training programme for Case Prevention.
5. providing expert support to LoB in setting fraud risk appetite; providing internal fraud / external fraud/telecom fraud risk management policy guidance, definition and interpretation assistance; and preforming oversight activities, as well as consulting on dispensation requests
6. reviewing and challenging the activities of the 1LOD so that the minimum standards of risk management and risk reporting have been met.
7. promoting process simplification during fraud control review and assessment.
8. advising and challenging the 1LOD on all aspects of material internal/external Fraud and Telecom Fraud Risk events.
9. supporting senior management of CMP and other colleagues in CNQ and Branches for HBCN Case Prevention and Fraud Management related matters.
The role holder will provide SME advices to Rural Banks in China as well.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
• University degree or above, with over 10 years relevant working experience.
• Good understanding of regulatory environment, expectations and relevant regulations on Case Prevention.
• Strong banking experience required with knowledge of banking systems, products and processes.
• Detailed knowledge of the HSBC structure and the internal control requirements across LoBs and Functions.
• Understanding of evolving Criminal Case and Fraud threat landscape and it's materiality to HSBC and the control environment.
• Strong background of fraud risk management, covering both retail business and wholesale business.
• Strong skills to handle multiple tasks in parallel.
• Good appreciation of Chinese Law. Legal background a plus.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
• Fluency in both written and verbal English and Mandarin.
