Responsibility:

As part of the risk team supporting the growing business, the candidate will primarily focus on the risk management for Trading business:

  • Maintaining good working relationships with businesses to ensure policies and standards in relation to risk governance and appetite areas are consistently applied across the IBCN business lines.
  • Overseeing risk analysis across a large and diverse set of IBCN products and businesses, often with conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to interact with senior management of the IBCN, within Risk and in the business on challenging issues. Must be able to balance the need to maintain a strong and supportive relationship with the business whilst maintaining independence and authority.
  • Given the breadth of the role, must be able to manage effectively many different demands and responsibilities and switch quickly between different problems.
  • Distilling complex issues down into simple messages that can be understood easily by senior management and non-technical staff.
  • Remain fully up to-date with developments in the financial markets at both a macro and micro level to ensure that changing risk profiles are identified and communicated to senior risk management and business.
  • Understanding of complex market risks arising from derivatives trading and counterparty default risks, and applying judgement to determine which risks are significant and likely enough that they warrant management attention.
  • Must have and maintain a deep understanding of market behaviour and economics, to guide definition of stress scenarios.
  • Ability to find simple and pragmatic solutions to complex problems.

Requirement:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management related disciplines or quantitative subject.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant working experience in traded risk or related field.
  • Good knowledge of derivatives and structured products (delta / gamma / vega / vol surface / gap risk / pin risk), ideally with understanding of common hedging strategies.
  • Must complete AMAC and CSRC licensing exam, if not already completed, within 6-months of onboarding.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of scripting (Python) or database query (SQL) language.
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken Chinese and English.
