GCOO - Asia & Middle East COO

Our GCOO organisation is critical for HSBC. This team partners closely with business teams to drive simplification and deliver exceptional customer outcomes in Asia and the Middle East region which covers 26 markets, 600+ offices and branches, and more than 140,000 employees. By strengthening our control environment and enhancing risk management, we drive operational excellence and enable the bank to deliver focused and sustainable growth in this super-region.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:

1. To handle daily payment processing task as assigned by line manager/supervisor. To conduct instruction registration, distribution, scanning, follow-up, preparing voucher/payment instruments, day-end reconciliation and filing for RMB Cross border payments as tasks assigned, ensuring all qualified payments handed over from Payment Documents Checking staffs are processed according to bank SLA. For PIB instructions, reroute to other related AOC branches or GSC if is assigned as coordinator. For Cheque/DD/Forward Deal handling, comply with related procedure and guidance during processing. Report funding request accurately based on the instructions in hand and send for supervisor’s double check.

2. To comply with the requirement of group policies and standards, procedures and local regulations with prudent manner and high level risk control sense.

3. To contact internal parties or customers and take necessary actions for the exceptions during GSC’s processing according to bank guidelines, such as insufficient balance, ID expired, payment referring RM, unclear instruction and etc. Keep close communication with GSC on processing of payments.

4. To receive and handle faxed urgent instructions from RBWM sub-branches and consolidate sub-branches’ funding reporting if necessary.

5. To provide required instruction slips to Return and reporting team according to different payment type for BoP reporting purpose. To copy documents to return to customers and send the original copy to Return and reporting team for further processing.

6.  Preparing regulatory returns according to bank procedure. Keep good communication with related business departments and regulatory organizations.  严格按照制表流程编制报表。与内部风控部门及监管机构保持良好沟通。

7. To backup other RMB Cross border Payment Processing Assistants on leave. To complete assigned ad hoc tasks and participate in special projects according to management instructions.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

Knowledge
  • A senior high school certificate holder, diploma or degree in any discipline. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations are commensurate with the position
Experience
