Description

We are currently seeking a highly qualified individual to join the Institutional Client Group (ICG) Team in our Korea office. As a member of the team, the successful candidate will support the wider Institutional Client franchise.

Team Description

The Institutional Client Coverage team in Korea is a growing and exciting segment within HSBC. We are a product agnostic group in charge of managing the relationship with our clients, understanding their needs, their industry trends and ensuring HSBC supports them in achieving their financial objectives. The ICG team covers a wide array of institutional clients including Banks, Insurers, Sponsors, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Asset Managers, Hedge funds and Public Sector

About the Job

The individual will be driving the growth strategy of the business and managing risk on the portfolio.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Proactively develop an understanding of the clients’ business needs and identify solutions in response to the challenges that they face
• Drive revenue growth across Korean Financial Institutional client portfolio and International Financial institution clients investing into Korea.

• Drive achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment of the team
• Identify opportunities, undertake presentations for new products and services.

• Have a high awareness of the sector and competitor activity and share with teams and stakeholders accordingly.

• Conduct high quality Senior client meetings and presentations  

• Serve as line manager in the team, setting expectations, sharing best practices and develop colleagues to ensure that they maximize their performance, meet the required standards, and continuously develop their capabilities.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including product partners
• Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal & external rules, regulations & procedures.
• Act as the First Line of Defence to protect HSBC against Financial Crime and to ensure credit risk arising from the relationship with the clients is proactively managed at all times

To be successful in this role you will require:

• Knowledge of industry and exposure to Korean financial industry, local & global institutional client market & regulatory environment.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of banking, markets and securities services products
• Preferably knowledge of HSBC Group and products coupled with a strong network of contacts across business areas.
• Advanced understanding of risk management, risk mitigation and Client Due Diligence risks.
• Excellent team player with a proactive approach and strong interpersonal, sales and communication skills.
• Highly motivated, eager to accept new challenges and able to work under pressure.
• The ability to form effective relationships and exercise influence at the most senior level of the organization, both internally and externally
• A strong understanding of risk management and risk mitigation
• Uphold the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles
• Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and perform to the highest standards
