Consultant Specialist

Job Description

• Lead and oversee Korea-wide transformation, simplification and automation initiatives, from ideation through delivery and benefits realisation
• Establish and run regular governance forums and meetings to:- analyse rapidly changing technology trends
  • define and maintain the local technology strategy and roadmap aligned to Group and Regional direction
  • assess the potential application of new technologies, including AI, data and cloud
  • track delivery status, risks, dependencies and value realisation
• Apply hands-on development and technical solutioning skills to:
  • translate business problems into practical technology solutions
  • design and develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts
  • build, test and refine technology solutions using appropriate development tools and platforms
  • support the transition of successful prototypes into scalable and sustainable production solutions
• Drive adoption of AI and data platforms to improve colleague productivity and operational efficiency; identify high-impact use cases with Business and Operations and take them through development and delivery
• Own Tech Finance management for the function and portfolio, including:
  • budget planning and tracking
  • efficient budget utilisation and cost optimisation
  • improving cost allocation transparency and management reporting, including RTB/CTB/CAM as applicable

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of banking, including hands-on experience in technology development and/or production support for core banking systems or processes
• Demonstrated ability to combine technology strategy, consultancy and hands-on development, from assessing business needs through to solution design, prototyping, testing and implementation
• Practical experience in applying one or more new technologies, including AI / Data platforms / Cloud
• Hands-on Python development experience, with the ability to develop prototypes, build and test solutions, and support technical solutioning
• Demonstrated experience managing or governing Technology financials, including budget planning, tracking and reporting
• Strong stakeholder management and consultancy skills, with the ability to influence across a matrix organisation and contribute effectively to governance and working forums
• English is mandatory; Korean is preferred
• Must be able to work based in HSBC Korea — onshore presence required
