Job description

Role and Responsibilities

Trading VP is responsible for delivering timely and accurate dealing services to clients in the assigned area, while managing the firm’s inventory and trading risk under supervision and within assigned limits, ensuring activity is conducted in compliance with applicable regulations and supports the desk’s commercial objectives.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Manage and maintain risk positions within agreed position limits, supporting delivery of the desk’s revenue target.
  • Provide liquidity and trade ideas to clients, trading within set limits and under supervision as assigned.
  • Provide consistent pricing for the sales force and target clients.
  • Deliver market making and dealing support to meet client needs in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Execute firm and customer trades in line with the desk’s designation requirements and applicable regulation.
  • Monitor daily electronic trading activity and determine where trades should be routed for execution, checking accuracy of account information.
  • Ensure correct ticket entry and order routing and maintain effective communication with the sales desk.
  • Ensure trades are booked to the front office position keeping system on the day of execution; support resolution of settlement issues and reconcile assigned daily/monthly reports.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and relevant external bodies, staying up to date with developments.Deliver fair outcomes for customers and ensure conduct supports the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
  • Contribute to the formulation of trading strategies (where applicable).
  • Develop and nurture client relationships, anticipating and identifying needs.
