Job description

Our purpose – Opening up a world of opportunity – explains why we exist. Here at HSBC we use our unique expertise, capabilities, breadth and perspectives to open up new kinds of opportunity for our more than 40 million customers. We’re bringing together the people, ideas and capital that nurture progress and growth, helping to create a better world – for our customers, our people, our investors, our communities and the planet we all share.

In compliance with applicable laws, HSBC is committed to employing only those who are authorized to work in the US. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. as HSBC will not engage in immigration sponsorship for this position.

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

As an Analyst in our Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT) team you’ll support client coverage and transaction execution across a broad set of banking solutions. You’ll work closely with senior bankers to produce analysis, materials and client insights that help position HSBC as a trusted partner to TMT clients. The role sits in a fast-paced, regulated environment where accuracy, judgement and follow-through matter. You’ll track market and regulatory developments and translate them into clear implications for clients and internal stakeholders. Success looks like high-quality deliverables, well-run execution support and growing capability across client work over time.

This is a role where strong analysis turns into real client outcomes through better advice, tighter execution and clearer decisions. You’ll work across product partners and coverage teams to help HSBC support TMT clients on important moments and day-to-day banking needs. If you want to build a strong foundation in corporate banking while working closely with experienced bankers we’d like to hear from you. Applicants must be legally authorised to work in the U.S. as HSBC will not engage in immigration sponsorship for this position.

As our Analyst, Technology, Media and Telecom, you will:

  • Build and maintain core analysis to support client coverage and transaction execution in the TMT sector
  • Create pitch books and client presentations that are accurate, tailored and ready for senior review
  • Support origination and execution across solutions including Credit & Lending, Leveraged & Acquisition Finance, Capital Markets, Transaction Banking, Global Markets and Asset Management
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes and market intelligence and summarise implications for clients
  • Evaluate client portfolios, sectors and competitors and package insights for internal and external discussions
  • Coordinate inputs across product partners to support timely deliverables and client engagement
  • Maintain high data quality in internal systems and ensure outputs align to internal standards
  • Follow internal policies and external regulations across all activity and documentation

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Bring experience from banking, consulting or relevant sector roles
  • Apply strong financial analysis and modelling skills to support client advice and execution work
  • Produce clear, high-quality written materials and presentations in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Communicate effectively with bankers and product partners to coordinate deliverables and timelines
  • Demonstrate understanding of corporate banking products and sector trends particularly in TMT
  • Manage multiple priorities with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Show a consistent approach to compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Hold FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses or bring equivalent demonstrable experience and willingness to obtain them within a set timeframe

As an HSBC employee, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities to ensure you have the right skills for today and tomorrow. We offer a competitive pay and benefits package including a robust Wellness Hub, all in a welcoming and inclusive work environment. You will be empowered to drive HSBC’s engagement with the communities we serve through an industry-leading volunteerism policy, a generous matching gift program, and a comprehensive program of immersive Sustainability and Climate Change Initiatives. You’ll want to join our Employee Resource Groups as they play a central part in life at HSBC, including the development of our employees and networking inside and outside of HSBC. We value difference. We succeed together. We take responsibility. We get it done. And we want you to help us build the bank of the future!

Your final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, ancestry, color, race, national origin, ethnicity, disability or medical condition, genetic information, military or veteran service, religion, creed, sex, gender, pregnancy, childbirth, caregiver status, marital status, citizenship or immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or any other trait protected by applicable law.
