We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Tax Finance Manager  - TAXATION  (FINANCE SUPPORT).

 

Principal Responsibilities:

 

 With close coordination with the Head of Finance:

  • Identify and document the tax risks and controls, recommend corrective measures, and coordinate the implementation of practical measures and solutions to improve compliance and efficiency consistent with Group policy.
  • Owns the preparation and review the tax computations, tax returns, tax reports and ensuring prompt payment of tax liabilities and tax risk reporting
  • Establish adequate audit trail/documentation of tax working papers to mitigate if not eliminate potential tax penalties and coordinates and implements tax regulations/procedures.

 

  • Respond to tax queries, provide in house tax advice & do researches to resolve any tax issues  i. e. tax implications of new products/processes, contracts and new legislations.
  • Liaise and maintain good rapport with auditors, tax counsel and examiners and when necessary provides information/reports required
  • Communicate regularly with HBAP MNL Head of TAX on all tax Increase knowledge and skills through attendance at meetings, training seminars and in-service training sessions
  • Assists in the implementation of the Group compliance policy locally by containing compliance risk in liaison with the Global Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. Awareness of Operational Risk associated with the role, in compliance to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Requirements) for Group Service Centers (GSCs).

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant field.
  • Certified Public Accountant with a minimum of 3 years in directly handling tax responsibilities, specifically, BIR, PEZA, BOI, SEC and Local government regulations.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in handling BIR Tax examinations
  • Robust knowledge on PEZA incentives programs and requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and key non-Finance customers within the organization
  • Proactive, anticipates requirements, forward looking
  • Deadline oriented with a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done

 

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
