We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager for Operations.

 

 

Role Context

 

The role sits in a fast-paced Settlements Processing environment supporting multiple institutional counterparties, where the manager has authority to plan capacity intraday, allocate work, and oversee workflow/systems to meet productivity and quality goals. They work within HSBC policies but are accountable for team leadership, service delivery, continuous improvement, and strong risk/audit controls (including closing audit points and managing operational risk.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Deliver a low-cost, high-quality service to business areas by effective management of costs/resources, ensuring risk is minimised and profit maximised.
  • Drive and manage change to achieve business goals (e.g., process improvements / changes in procedures).
  • Ensure daily operational efficiency by overseeing and closely monitoring operational processes and workflow, market-specific requirements/procedures, and systems performance in securities processing.
  • Productivity and quality targets achieved; issues/problems analysed and resolved/escalated, with actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Daily operational efficiency: oversight and close monitoring of processes/workflow, market-specific requirements/procedures, and systems performance in securities processing.
  • Change delivery: effectively drive/manage change to achieve business goals (e.g., process improvements /procedure changes.
  • Provide service excellence and drive quality initiatives for improved customer satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership to the assigned team, consistent with Group and Company policies and standards.
  •   Manage operational risk: identification, assessment, mitigation and controls, plus loss identification and reporting in line with the Operational Risk Management Framework.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points, and address issues raised by external regulators.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

 

•      A graduate diploma, degree in any discipline or equivalent experience. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations commensurate with the position.

•      A strong Financial Analysis background is preferred.

•      Credit and financial statement analysis will also be highly advantageous.

•      Bachelor degree holder in business, finance or related discipline

•      Knowledge in MS Excel and Macro is a plus

•      Able to prioritize tasks and manage time well and with excellent attention to detail.

•      Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English

•      Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills

•      Client facing and negotiation skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders

•              Able to maintain good working relationship with clients

 

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
