We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager – Equities Middle Operations Control (Fixed Term).

 

Principal responsibilities

  • The core purpose of this role is to provide day to day support for Middle Office Control team, who performs front-to-back reconciliations and checks, reporting, and query management throughout the trade lifecycle to ensure integrity of trade bookings and flows.
  • The role holder will be part of the Equities franchise under Market Securities Services Operations (MSSO) umbrella. The role will specifically cover products in the Cash Equity space. The scope of the Cash EQ Middle Office team in Manila includes Broker Matching, CSA, Middle Office Control, Client Services and Desk Support.  
  • This manager role will be responsible for supervising day-to-day operations as well as delivery of various initiatives – business strategic deliveries, continuous improvements, market and regulatory changes.
  • Oversight and escalation point for any operational issues – providing management support as required.
  • Support the BAU elements of the role by stepping in and providing cover for the team.
  • Management of more junior members including management of day to day performance, development, coaching and mentoring of the individuals.
  • In conjunction with line manager, setting the strategy for the function and delivering on it. Guidance / Sponsorship on Process Improvement opportunities in MO space.
  • Capacity management and smooth back-up process.
  • Balancing of daily deliverables against continuous improvements, regulatory and market changes and strategic deliveries.
  • Performance and continuous review of control framework. Thematic review of exceptions, data driven analysis and implementation of strategic solutions
  • Risk management and escalation.

 

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Equities front-to-back flow is a plus.
  • Prior supervisory experience essential, preferably with change and operations management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectlivly between external parties, Front Office, senior leaders and the various departments within HSBC
  • Ability to problem solve, articulate requirements and implement change were necessary.
