We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager – Processing – DCC SG Settlements – MNL.
Accountable for the end-to-end delivery of clearing and settlements processing to ensure trades are settled on time and in accordance with client instructions, internal procedures, SLAs, minimum service standards and applicable policies/regulations. Drives operational efficiency, risk reduction, and service quality to achieve high levels of client satisfaction while avoiding claims, penalties, operational losses or regulatory breaches.
Principal responsibilities
- Manage daily repair and oversight of outstanding instructions for Direct Custody and Clearing activities (as applicable).
- Handle and oversee responses to enquiries related to client trade instructions from internal/external stakeholders across the HSBC network.
- Produce/own MI and ad hoc reporting on trade volumes, fails, breaks, risk indicators, and performance themes as required.
- Lead projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance controls, reduce cost, and improve service.
- Proactively identify problems, drive resolution/escalation, and implement measures to improve quality and prevent recurrence.
- Consistently delivering timely and accurate settlement outcomes while balancing control requirements, service standards, market cut-offs, volume spikes, and complex transactions.
- Proactive coordination across internal/external stakeholders to avoid fails, penalties, and reputational risk.
- Remaining current on relevant rules, regulations, and policies, and translating changes into operational practice quickly.
Investigation and resolution of unreconciled items/breaks, including driving root-cause fixes rather than repeat firefighting.
Requirements
- Experience in Settlements and Market Operations background
- Familiarity with the flow of the custody business.
- Strong attention to detail and maturity in handling queries.
- Strong communication skills in dealing with external counterparts and internal stakeholders.
- Self-starter; organised, goal-oriented, and driven; takes ownership of key accountabilities.
- Well-developed problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging situations.
- Good Leadership skills
