We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Screening Utility Ops.
The focus of this role is largely aligned to the strategic intent of Global Screening Utility and is aimed to manage primarily Transaction screening operations and may extend coverage to name screening and negative news screening processes, through the Screening Utility, across regions (ASP, Europe and UK, MENAT, US, LAM, CAN) whilst protecting the interests of the various functional lines. The primary purpose is to lead the definition and deployment of the Target Operational Model for Global Screening Utility and oversee the implementation in their respective region.
Objectives
- Provide end to end leadership to the Global Screening team aligned with business requirements.
- Ensure that all teams across functional line continue to meet all PLAs - cut-offs, quality, Audit & Risk, OOE, Operational losses, etc.
- Properly and timely handle escalations from business and customers. Learn from these escalations and drive continuous improvement.
The role holder is expected to provide support to various stakeholders and drive the delivery of agreed objectives within the operating model consistent with group standards and extend organizational support, helping to ensure action items, deadlines, and deliverables are completed.
Principal responsibilities:
- Provide a platform for the team to establish and maintain effective relationship with GLOBs and relevant risk stewards.
- Execute and drive implementation global programs and initiatives within the team to improve customer satisfaction.
- To drive improvements in overall cost and quality of the Global Screening Utility by working with onshore functional leads, production management, Change delivery teams onshore and offshore, metrics team and multiple GSC stakeholders across sites.
- Strike the right balance between Global standardization and Regional customization across the functional line.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with various appropriate Regional and Global teams
- Enhance people development and career path opportunities.
- Oversee resolution of employee related concerns by partnering with various functions such as Human Resources, Finance, Learning and Development etc.
- Ensure employee engagement through involvement Reward & Recognition activities are conducted in line with local practices and schedules
- Support other Screening site leads in incidents caused by external factors through co-ordination and timely communication.
- Support Other Screening site leads during Business Continuity planning and execution during incidents.
- Support Screening Site leads with hiring at site level in conjunction with Functional leads.
- Partner with Global Businesses, Global Change Delivery and other stakeholders to drive operational change programmes and have oversight of operational change programmes that impact the Global Screening utility.
- Build and manage a high performing and engaged Screening team across sites.
- Instill a sense of collaboration amongst various teams and align them as per the TOM.
- Retain talent, manage underperformance and attrition. Ensure Career progression of staff.
- Groom and develop talent as per succession plans.
- Be sensitive to cross cultural nuances and exhibit maturity and tolerance in managing the same.
- Own financials at Screening Utility - Ops level and ensure that site level reporting matches aggregated functional reporting across all parameters - people, process, financial and customer service
- Ensure that all change activities are managed with minimal operational disruption.
- Oversee all offshoring activity for Screening in conjunction with Site leads, leveraging existing expertise to cut short on transition timelines where possible.
- Plan and manage ad-hoc tasks and queries raised by senior management to ensure relevant and timely response. Initiate lateral thinking and the ability to see things from a management perspective.
- Provide onsite supervisory support to all site teams. Escalate issues through to Global Head of Screening Utility in a timely manner
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree (E)
- A fully qualified, experienced Screening professional with knowledge and experience gained through a broad range of different roles and through a qualification relevant to the job.
- Knowledge in end to end payment flow, payment types and SWIFT is preferred.
- Fircosoft/OWS product knowledge and technical expertise.
- Sound understanding of KPI, KCI and KRI of screening process.
- People management experience – Leading, motivating and developing, large teams with diversified responsibilities for min. of 5 years.
- Ability to provide creative solutions to complex issues.
- Strong advocate with good influencing skills.
- Well, organized with an ability to priorities effectively.
- Has experience in planning and organizing work in a global environment.
- Experience of establishing and maintaining relationships with senior decision makers.
- Is a change leader to drive and implement changes within the CoE.
- Has in the past, taken difficult decision by keeping global strategy and / or bigger picture in view.
- Has the ability to proactively seek, pre-empt and prevent bottlenecks by implementing practical solutions within tight deadlines.
- Understands the detail of the roles of various functions and can coordinate with multiple parties simultaneously to drive common objectives.
- Ability to understand and manage risk.
