We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager.

The role will be involved specifically in facilitating settlements of Equity Trades with particular focus on Trade validations and Trade Matching, reconciliations, review documentation and settlement discrepancy queries from offshore teams. 

  

The Opportunity:

Securities Settlement Operations undertake responsibilities for the timely and accurate settlement of capital market products, the department ensures that:

 

  • Trades are correctly matched and settled in the market.
  • Any discrepancies are escalated to the desk.
  • Client confidence both internal and external is maintained.
  • This job is servicing the London business and works UK business hours

 

In this role, you will:

Impact on the Business

  • Ensure that matching and settlement of trades are done in timely and accurate fashion.
  • Ensure that tasks and daily allocations are completed.
  • Understand the risk & control framework and ensure escalation procedures are adhered to.
  • Act as initial point of escalation on Supervisor’s absence.
  • Expectation that the role will consist of line and project responsibilities around the Equity space, driven by new business, process improvement and operating model challenges

 

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Build strong Business and Operations Management relationships
  • Assist management in achieving overall business objectives, including the smooth transition of ad-hoc roles to Global service centres.

 

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Support process, supervisor and work in collaboration with the team to resolve issues
  • Achieve set performance benchmark and target for each year

 

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Ensure that all tasks allocated are actioned including performance of EOD checks
  • Implement process efficiencies to improve service quality

 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • A college graduate diploma or degree in any discipline.
  • Work experience
  • Ability to speak and understand English fluently.
  • Hands on experience of Operations Processing
  • Minimum, basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to write business letters and reports.
  • Good conversational/telephone skills (process specific).
  • Ability to maintain focus while working with voluminous data and able to multi task.
  • Able to work in a demanding and time sensitive environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge appropriately.
  • Ability to understand and interpret numeric data.
  • Flexibility to work shifts.
  • Ability to build rapport with and relate to a wide range of people.

What additional skills will be good to have?

It would be advantageous for candidates who possess the ff:

  • 3-5 years of experience in investment banking or financial institution
  • Knowledge of Trade Operations
  • Experience on Quality Assurance in a Financial Institution
  • A degree in Business or Finance
  • Familiar working knowledge of associated technology

 

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
