We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager - Equities (Trade & Position Management).

Broker Matching team is responsible for matching inward broker confirmations with HSBC bookings.   

 

The Opportunity:

The Assistant Manager is responsible for performing the intra-day checks - ensuring that all broker matching queues for the day are completed, all high-value and aged items are properly escalated and communicated with relevant teams. 

 

In this role, you will:

Impact on the Business 

  • To work with the settlements team, focusing on the domestic matching, Euroclear management and instructing part business.
  • To ensure that upon request and appropriately, settlement occurs in a timely and accurate fashion. Ensure that the risk & control framework and escalation procedures are adhered to.
  • To act as cover in Supervisors’ absence and point of escalation within the team. Expectation that the role will consist of line and project responsibilities around the Equity space, driven by new business, process improvement and operating model challenges

 

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Build strong Business and Operations Management relationships
  • Assist management in achieving overall business objectives, including the smooth transition of ad-hoc roles to Global service centres.

 

Leadership & Teamwork 

  • Operating as part of a team. Focus on ensuring the individual is fully cross trained on the various functions needed to fulfil the role.  Support the collaborative working across all the various Equity departments onshore/ offshore.

 

Operational Effectiveness & Control 

  • Ensure end of day checks are actioned
  •  Implement process efficiencies to improve service quality

 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Accomplished understanding of Equities franchise and the associated risks
  • Highly numerate
  • Ability to problem solve, articulate requirements and implement change
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately in a pressurised environment
  • Quick learner, analytical and has keen attention to detail

 

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.

 

Due to the urgent hiring need, candidates with immediate right to work locally and no relocation need will be prioritised.
