We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of AVP Operations - Asset Servicing.

Day to day oversight of Middle Office Asset Servicing which services VIP client. The process includes end to end process of all types of Corporate Actions – Mandatory, Optional and Voluntary. In addition, the team handles Income Processing, Settlements and Cash & Holdings Reconciliations. Requests like preparing forms related to CA events, contacting agents and brokers and other bespoke client requests.
The Opportunity:
- Assistant Vice President (AVP) is responsible for overall Operations of various team, reporting to Vice President (VP) of Asset Services as department.
- The role requires highly effective resource management to ensure quality and productivity standards are maintained while coping with staff turnover and inexperienced staff. Continuous review of Management Information (MI) easily comprehended by Sr. Management to highlight performance (KPI) and risk indicators (KRI).
- This includes driving motivation of staff with widely differing aspirations working in productivity based environment where deadlines are critical.

Operational Effectiveness & Control
- To maintain HSBC Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- To implement the Group Compliance Policy as applicable to your role in conjunction with the relevant Compliance Department. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply within the Philippines and in relation to the countries migrating work to the assigned GCS.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Knowledge
- A post-graduate diploma or degree in any discipline. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations commensurate with the position
Experience
- Possess relevant Securities background and knowledge - at least 18 months of Securities experience preferably in the areas of Asset Services or Custody & Clearing.
- At least 5 years’ Managerial experience in Operations with track record to oversee various teams, manage Senior Management and various stakeholders from different jurisdiction
- Experience in managing Operations with distinct KPI delivery and requirement driven by nature of market being serviced
- Strong leadership evidence by achievement of objectives, develop individuals into high performing team and delivery of projects, initiatives or Program on wider scale
- Evidence of strong analytical, statistical and data mining skills to study trends, make projections and to interpret numeric information for decision making
- Preferably with experience leading transformation program, automation (i.e. VBA, Robotics, Python) or process migration
Skills
- Above average communication skills. Can fluently speak or write English. Highly conversational and has ability to present self to wide audience across different countries.
- Operational Excellence. Ability to drive Service delivery through Operational excellence tools
- Ability to learn quickly, transfers knowledge appropriately, understand and interpret numeric data in order to have sensible decision in Operations and drive business strategy.
- Ability to lead various projects or transformation program, with literacy on Agile or Lean Six sigma approach.
- Demonstrates strong ability to recognize and effectively manage risk to mitigate exposure to business.
- Able to work in time sensitive environment and manage priorities effectively.
- Dedicated approach to teamwork and ability to contribute to team effort
- Willing to work on extended APAC business hours.
Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
