We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of a Senior. Associate Director, Software Engineering
In this role you will:
- Be responsiible for Unix/Linux operations: Provisioning, patching/upgrades, performance tuning, capacity management, and break/fix across RHEL/SUSE/AIX (as applicable).
- Incident/Problem/Change ownership: Triage, RCA, remediation, and preventative actions.
- On-call & major incidents: Rota support with clear technical updates, recovery steps, and stakeholder comms.
- Operational documentation: Maintain runbooks, build standards, support handovers, and known error records.
- Patching & deployments (DIGS): Plan and deliver patch cycles end-to-end (pre-checks, scheduling, implementation, validation, rollback) and resolve failures.
- Compliance & go-live readiness (QuAC): Verify compliance, remediate findings, and provide audit/control evidence; ensure builds meet security/logging/monitoring/backup/DR standards.
- Privileged access governance (RPA/TPAM/Centrify): Enforce least privilege, ensure approvals/auditability, and support access reviews and remediation.
- Automation & internal cloud (Puppet/Ansible/Shell/Python, HIC): Automate and standardise builds, reduce toil/MTTR, and support HIC-hosted workloads with platform teams.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Strong Unix/Linux administration experience in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise patching/deployment processes (including DIGS or equivalent tooling).
- Compliance/go-live validation experience using QuAC or similar compliance verification tooling.
- Privileged access management experience using RPA processes and tools such as TPAM and/or Centrify.
- Automation with Puppet and Ansible (writing/maintaining modules/playbooks; idempotent approach).
- Scripting: Bash/Shell; Python desirable. Solid troubleshooting across OS, performance, storage, and networking fundamentals.
- Comfortable working within ITIL-aligned change/incident/problem processes and producing audit-ready evidence.
- Experience supporting services on internal cloud platforms (especially HIC). Familiarity with vulnerability management, OS hardening standards, and configuration drift remediation. Exposure to CI/CD concepts and infrastructure-as-code practices.
