We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of SVS Technology lead
In this role, you will:
- Working with the Business Outcome Lead, develop the strategy of the SVS, with full accountability of all aspects of technology.
- Work closely with Business Outcome & Transformation Leads to ensure the value stream change agenda is delivered on time and in budget. Full ownership of Technology Delivery roadmap, managing changes as they arise and keeping stakeholders focused on the agreed change outcomes and benefits. Be hands-on and remove delivery blockers through appropriate action and escalation at junior and senior level. Minimising dependencies but owning those that do exist outside of the team.
- Manage the creation and delivery of Accounts products and features into markets and brands, globally supporting through design, requirements, build and testing within engineering teams through Agile ways of working
- Leading teams using agile methodologies, utilising a DevOps approach to ensure each digital product globally operates on a single code base and is delivered through teams operating a continuous integration and continuous delivery framework and toolset
- Scale these global products across all WBP markets creating a pattern to industrialise the deployment and continuously develop and support the product. Be passionate about agile and lead PI Planning driving the vision, strategy, and delivery success of the SVS
- Be accountable for the objectives and key results across the SVS and use data to inform prioritisation and decision making. Maintain a focus on ROI to ensure priorities align to areas of greatest impact through OKRs
- Responsible for service and controls of all products within the SVS. Maintaining the right level of governance and control to ensure adherence to HSBC guidelines. Lead other technology roles within the Sub Value Stream as required.
- Develop clear strategic priorities that ensures resources (capability, people & funding) are enabled to deliver new features and compelling distinctly native services within Value Streams. Operate a fixed capacity engineering function
- Manage and control all associated costs/investments against annual budget for designing and developing new services (Change The Bank) as well as managing and supporting existing services (Run the Bank) within Sub-Value Stream
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Strong Software Engineering background and experience of leading teams in agile at-scale methods using DevOps tools and process. Ideally with SAFe training and practical experience of running agile release trains.
- Excellent track record in driving a complex change agenda and working closely with markets and the business to deliver journeys across geographies. Proven experience in working in a cross functional matrix environment with market and global technology teams
- Experience in AI Deliveries with experience of governance/pilots on proven use cases.
- Knowledge of the various servicing journeys and related technology / processes / operational support involved
- Excellent understanding of the bank’s risk framework and technology controls and experience of working with second line of defence: legal, compliance, financial crime (AML & sanctions), fraud, risk
- Demonstrable resilience and persistence – a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Effective communication, influencing and negotiation and strong stakeholder management skills at all levels and across diverse, global teams and key stakeholders across WPB and the wider HSBC
- Respectful of different cultures, working with colleagues from across all 5 regions (North America, LATAM, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Europe)
