We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sr. Associate Director, Software Engineering Specialist.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to core platform engineering across software development, security, and architecture, supported by high-quality documentation and active knowledge sharing within the team.
- Lead the end-to-end design, build, and testing of microservices and digital applications across mobile and web channels.
- Develop delivery estimates for development and testing based on design documentation, enabling effective planning and prioritisation.
- Drive on-time delivery of platform-level commitments by working closely with distributed teams and executing against agreed timelines.
- Design and deliver cloud-native solutions that are resilient, secure, high-performing, scalable, and straightforward to operate, including in public cloud environments.
- Translate business and functional requirements into robust technical solutions in partnership with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA, SRE/Operations, and Risk/Compliance stakeholders.
- Provide analysis and technical recommendations to meet business needs and improve the performance and reliability of complex systems.
- Define platform strategy while managing capacity and controlling costs (including infrastructure and resource consumption) to support sustainable operations.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive hands-on experience delivering enterprise-grade digital solutions (web and mobile) using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
- Strong grounding in CI/CD and DevOps practices, including Git, build tools (Maven), pipeline automation (e.g., Jenkins/GitLab), and containerization (Docker).
- Effective communicator and collaborator, able to work confidently with global, cross-functional stakeholders; builds trusted relationships with product and operations teams and helps shape team standards and ways of working.
- Demonstrated track record in strategic transformation, translating strategy into clear delivery plans and driving successful implementation and adoption.
- Proven solutions architecture and hands-on engineering capability across complex, large-scale enterprise platforms.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms, including auto-scaling and globally distributed application deployments.
- Experienced in Agile, DevOps-led delivery environments, adaptable to changing requirements and willing to take on new responsibilities as needed.
- Accountable for service management adherence across teams/pods, with a focus on improving reliability and observability and reducing recurring incidents.
