We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

Department: - The MSS Operations Technology (MSSOT) is a sub-department within Markets & Security Services that touches upon every part of a Trade Life-cycle mainly focused on post trade and middle office activities.  The MSSOT asset class is responsible for applications that allow the business lines to undertake activities such as Reconciliations, Cash & Liquidity Management, Confirmations and Matching, Settlement and Payment, Exception Management, MI Reporting and other critical Post-Trade functions. MSSOT is globally distributed with IT Teams in India, China, UK, US, Canada and Mexico. A range of various technologies are deployed across the asset class with applications being a mix of Home Grown and Vendor software.

In this role, you will:

  • The role is critical from the objective of achieving 100% automation on CI/CD pipeline and providing for a faster release cadence through complete automation of the testing cycles. Having a complete CI/CD automation in place would reduce the project costs and also shorten the project delivery schedules. It would also require capabilities to build automation test packs for new features or feeds being rolled out, & identifying areas where additional automation testing could be deployed. 
    This would involve coordination with various Business & Operations teams in Cash Management & Markets Treasury, IT Management, and PODs to execute SIT & UAT against the planned deliverables. Cash Management operations is also seeking to automate the UAT cycles for faster turnaround, and the role would involve interacting with the Operations users on their test automations.

  • Results-oriented; takes responsibility and gets the job done
  • Has good communication skills and is able to effectively work remotely
  • Able to rapidly adapt to HSBC organizational policies, practices and standards, and to work within them to progress and complete the work
  • Proactive and willing to learn new technologies

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with setting up and executing Playwright, Java, Selenium automation framework for deliverables with medium to critical complexity
  • Experience in collaborating with other IT teams in the organization collectively to delivery projects
  • Experience writing simple scripts using Linux Shell scripting language would be an added advantage
  • Exposure to full project life cycle from Environment design, application build, testing and deployment
  • Must have experience in facing off end-users to determine requirements
  • Degree or above in computer science, I.T. or equivalent disciplines
